My cat is being sick and doesn't seem himself

My cat is 5 years old called Lucky. We had his mother (she has since moved in next door lol)and his aunty and Lucky was born in my sons bedroom with us all there. he was born breach and we didn't think he had survived at first so as you can imagine he is very special to us.

Lucky has always been a big cat and as we live on a farm he has spent most of his days and nights outside (by his choice) he would never stay in at night no matter how hard we tried until very recently
The last few weeks he has been in doors all day 'and' night only going out to go to the toilet and for very short spells. Although he is still eating he isn't eating as much as he normally does and has lost weight because of this.

The last few days Lucky has been sick a few times, maybe only 5 or 6 times over the last three days but this is so unusual for him and just wants to lie around.
He doesn't seem to be really poorly as such...but this is all out of character for him and we are starting to worry.

It is possible he is calming down because he is getting older and maybe this is why he isn't eating as much but something just doesnt feel right.

Any advice would be great. We are going to take him to be checked by the vet next week anyway but in the mean time it would be nice to have someone elses opinion

Hi well cat vomiting can be a symptom of many different illness. Please see this page

https://www.our-happy-cat.com/cat-vomiting.html

Because his symptoms have gone on for sometime i do think it is a good thing that you are going to take him to the vets. Any prolonged difference in behavior and or eating patterns need to be checked out.

I dont think his behavior has anything to do with his age, loss of appetite and loss of weight are symptoms of several different illness which can only be diagnosed by tests. Don't worry yourself about what it might be, you'll worry yourself to death that way. Just have him checked out and take it from there.

Hope he is better soon

best wishes Kate
