My cat misses the litter box

Hi....We have 2 cats, both neutered males. One is 13 yrs old, the other is 16 months. The younger one, over the last month or so, has decided to poop just outside the litter box. He urinates in the box, but for some reason, won't use the box for his bowel movement. I've washed the floor with bleach and used the spray that is supposed to keep them from the area. This hasn't helped. Could you offer any suggestions?

Do you have separate litter boxes for your cats? i ask this as quite often cats do not like to share the same litter tray as they can smell the other cats urine etc and this can cause them to want to scent mark the area.

Also you could tray cat attract litter which may also entice your cat to use the box more often,
