my cat moved out

I have a gray tabby named Champion that i have had for 11 years. Last year i got a orange tabby named Cheddar. At first Champion was uoset thren he seemed to get used to Cheddar. Now Cheddar is 1 year old, nuetered and very laid back. But recently Champion started hanging out across the street. we go get him and bring him home but he would run back there. Noew he doesnt come home at all and we noticed the nieghbors have put food out for him though we asked them not to. Why would he leave after so long together? I am heartbroken this never happened to me before.

Hi don't worry this is not uncommon and infact happened to me years ago. It really has nothing to do with you it is simply the case that this cat obviously prefers to be the only cat in the home. Some cats are just like that.

I really wouldn't be too upset at least you know where he s and that he will get looked after. I tried everything to get my cat to come home but she simply was not happy living with another cat and so at the end of the day we had to let her live with our neighbours who thankfully were happy to look after her.

Best wishes Kate
