Hi
Often when a cat licks his lips all the time it is a sign he wants to vomit. So yes it does sound like he is not feeling well.

However it is impossible to say what the issue is. It may just be a short lived virus which he will get over in a day or two, in which case he just needs rest and some quiet time. However if his symptoms worsen or if it continues for more than a couple of days then he should be seen by a vet.

Cats can pick up bugs just like the rest of us which normally sort themselves out. All you can do is keep an eye on him. Give him some tlc and some space and yes make sure he has access to water so that he does not dehydrate.

lets hope it will pass soon but if not then a trip to your vet may be in order.

best wishes kate
