My cats pupil is enlarged

by Kris
(Calgary, Alberta)

My 18 y/o cat suddenly has one enlarged pupil. Both eyes still react to light, and she has been acting normal, this was noticed 2 days ago now. She is very active, not on any medications, no concern for ear mites, (indoor cat). What could have caused this?

Hi I am not a vet and so cannot give you an accurate diagnosis. However I have always been taught that when anything like this happens that it should be checked urgently by a vet. Sometimes it is an indication of something happening in the brain but as I say I cannot say for sure and i may be completely wrong but i do think it is worth having checked out.

I hope it is something and nothing as they say.

best wishes Kate
