My Old Cat is acting strange!!

i had two cats both around 13 yrs,i had to get one of them put to sleep due to cancer.the other cat has always been a bit nervous but since the other cat has gone she walks around crying all the time,she has even been staring at a wall and started hissing.she doesnt like goin out much and is still eating and likes getting cuddles.is she depressed??thanks

From your description it could be one of two things I think.

It may be that she is going through a period of grief which is not unusual for cats to do after another pet dies. This is completely normal and is process which will ease with time. Please see my page on this for more information here

The other possibility is that your cat is displaying signs of old age. this behavior can be associated with age related illness which unfortunately is not something much can be done about. Again I have more information about this here
