My rescue kitten

I found an abandoned kitten - took him to vet was 4-5 weeks old. Feed him canned food and dry - had lukemia test - neg, worm test - neg, had all his shots. He is now 6 months old and recently he has been coughing & sneezing, a dry hacking cough and just a few mins ago was coughing then started sneezing and a thick beige mucous (textured not watery or smooth) came out of his nose. Gross. No watery eyes or runny nose. Eats well and goes in litter box. I have 3 other cats aged 13 - 17 years old and I never had this happen to them. Any ideas what this is? I'm afraid the vet will charge me an arm and a leg - I already spent close to $300 and my husband is throwing a hissy fit!!!! Thank you for your help.

Hi well even cats can pick up viruses like us which can make them vomit and sneeze etc. Its funny but one of my cats has a slight virus which made him vomit mucus for a day and he sneezes etc. the vet exmined him and said his glands were up and that it should go away on its own in time. Perhaps this is also what your cat has.

If it continues for more than a week then unfortunately a trip to the vet may be your only other option.

best wishes Kate and I hope he is better soon
