neighbors cat has hair loss

My neighbor has a male neutered cat that keeps losing his hair from about his lower back down to the middle of his tail and this normally only happens during the summer months she has tried everything to help stop this from happening even tried coco butter lotion and nothing works SO i am trying to find out why

there are many reasons for cat fur loss, from fleas to skin mites casing mange or even allergies. Unfortunately the only way to find out for sure is for the vet to do a skin scarping and take a look under a microscope.

If it is some form of mange it is important to find out which sort as the treatment is different.

of course make sure there are no visible signs of fleas or some other mite. If there are treating these first may help and see if this helps the condition.
