New Parents

5 month old Siamese raised by very nice breeders. Cats were in nice rooms, but not brought up daily with people other than the folks that would go out to feed etc. He rode home fine. We put him in a small bedrooms with things to climb on, litter box, food drink (same kind as he was used to) He hid and jumped the first day. But he won't eat or drink and hasnt used the litter box. Brought home Sunday evening, its now Wednesday am. He will let us hold him. We have started putting food around his mouth to lick off and a dropper to get water in his mouth. He is a solid cat, not bony, coat is good. Will a cat just not eat and die? Today for the first time he is meowing and has ventured out of the bedroo. We interact with him with catnip mice and petting. Any help please I've never raised a young cat and I do love him.

Sorry for the daly in repling. well i hope by now he has started to eat something. if not then take him to ther vet as soon as possible.

It is not unusual for a cat to go off their food for a day or so but they must get water as they can dehyrate rather quickly.

Read some of my pages hear about bonding with a new cat etc on the cat care pages it will give you some back ground information in looking after a cat if this is your first time.

best wishes Kate
