we got a kitten a few weeks ago and today i found them under my nieces crib with the kitten lached onto my other cats thats about a year and a half, is the healthy for the bigger cat or should we try to stop it

Answer from Kate

Hi well it all depends on how the kitten is. Kittens wean between 8 and 12 weeks and may still may to feed after that time.

Usually what happens is that the older cat will put a stop to it herself. I would not worry too much unless the kitten does it continually and then this could cause the older cat some sores.

It may mean that your kittens are not properly weaned yet and in which case you will have to step in and take over. Please see my page here about this

best wishes Kate
