obese cat with backend problem

My cat is older not sure his exact age. When I touch his backend he lip licks meows and twitches his head around, it almost looks like hes having a mini seizure? Im wondering what could be causing this discomfort?

Well if you say he is old and also over weight then he may have joint problems such as arthritis. Please see my page about this here for more information

The other possibility is that there has been some truama to that area in the past which is now starting to cause him problems.

A trip to your vets is really your best option especially with an old cat. Pain relief may be in order as well as some anti inflammatory to help your cat get around easier.
