Old cat let outside

My friends 14 year old cat was let outside, she doesn't no how far she will go. She has been gone for 24 hours and my friend is really scared. How far will she go and how long will she be gone?

I am guessing that the cat has not been allowed outside before. well it must be very exciting for him out there and so he will have a lot of exploring to do. As for how long he will be gone that is impossible to say. It may be a few hours, a few days, a few weeks it depends on how adventurous the cat is. I will say that my sisters cat went exploring for 9 days before he came home.
Leave some food and water for him outside and call him regulalrly so that if he can hear you he will know his bearings. Hopefully he will return soon.
