One kitten won't eat

I have kittens that are 5 wks old today 5/13/2010, they were all doing fine until this morning, I went out and they all came to me except for one, it was still in its bed. I reached in to get it so it could eat with the rest of them and he could not stand up he just laid down, when it did move it was scooting backwards, then it would crawl forward. Never did eat, just wanted to go back to the bed, can you please tell me what might be wrong. Its my first litter of kitty's and I don't want anything to happen to them.

Hi
I'm sorry to hear that your kitten is not well, unfortunately there are som many possibilities as to what could be wrong that it is impossible to tell you what the cause is.

All I can tell you is that it is very important to take the kitten to the vets as soon as possible.

Hopefully it is nothing serious and which can be sorted out with some treatment. but do take them as soon as possible as kittens can go down hill very quickly.

I hope he is better soon

best wishes Kate
