pet pottying outside litter box

My 13 year old cat is starting to wet outside her litter box. What does that mean?

This is not an easy question to answer as it can be caused by so many things. It could be a urinary infection, it could be that her litter tray smells wrong or is not clean enogh, it could be scenting behavior, my best advice is for you to read my cat urine pages for all the possible causes and how to deal with them.
