red dot on kittens tummy

Hello! my Kitten is about 9 months old, and is very active and happy. However i noticed today while he was giving himself a bath, he's got a very small bald patch on his tummy with a little red dot in the middle. He has never liked his tummy being rubbed, but touching the spot does not seem to hurt him. While i've never noticed it before, it doesn't mean it hasnt always been there. Could this be some kind of a birth mark, or should i take him to the vet?

well it is quite possible that it either a birth mark or the remains of where his umbilical cord was.

I always say if the cats is not in pain in that area and you can touch it with not effect and he is eating, playing and using the litter tray as normal then I wouldn't worry about it. You could perhaps mention it to the vet the next time you go.

best wishes Kate
