Salivating Cat

by Don

We've introduced a new kitten into our home with our 1 year old Maine Coon. The older cat is salivating stringy saliva when the kitten gets too close. Checked her mouth and it's fine and at all other times, she is perfectly normal. Anyone experience this before?

No I can honestly say I have not come across this before but i think I have heard of this before. However why it happens I don't think anyone really knows. It may just be a happy reaction similar to when my old cat used to be stroked and then she would start to dribble but only then.

Anyone else seen this before?

best wishes kate
