Sick Kittens?

by Krystal

I have two female 6 week old kittens. Recently they have been getting alittle bit weird, they get very tired & lay down in a position as if they have to pee but they dont & they just lay like that for hours. They are drinking replacement milk and are normally very active all the time but suddenly this happened. I dont have money for a vet. even though I really wish I could take them. They also either throw up or get diarhea atleast once when this happens but thats it. Its only happened twice, once with each of them. Any advice?

Hi
well it is difficult to say for sure what is causing your kittens problems, they are very young and normally should still be with their mother. You say they are on replacement milk i'm not sure if you mean just cats milk or the special kitten milk for pr-weaned kittens.

It may be that the milk you are giving them is not giving them all they need nutritionally. Please see my page here for more on this

Unfortunately young kittens can be prone to illness especially if they were taken away from their mum too early. I'm afraid there is not much i can say other than they really do need to see a vet. Please check to see if there are any animal charities in your area which could help with treatment or costs.

I do hope you can find them some help soon

best wishes kate
