Strange behavior from my male cat

My short hair cat is a year and 8 months. He weighs 13 lbs., is 36" on his back feet, and was a hisser for the first year. He has stopped hissing since I hissed back but still has things his way. He has started meowing like a yowling when he comes near my treadmill, then runs wildly throughout the house like there is an intruder. Lately, he does almost every night but then drools thick white saliva almost like a seizure. What could it be? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Anita

Hi this does sound rather strange. Has he been neutered? If not then it may be a hormonal issue.

Some cats can be a little skittish and running around madly for no apparent reason is not unusual but i don't like the sound of the foaming of the mouth. All I can say is that if it were me i would want the vet to take a look to be on the safe side.
