Stuck Poop?

by Kyle
(Rochester, NY)

My Roxy seams to be having what is either a recurring problem, or the same problem that only exhibits from time to time. She has what looks like a think ribbon of poop stuck to her bum. Generally in the past with my other kitties, a bit of tissue and we're a.o.k., but I tried to grab this one, and it made her VERY uncomfortable. She has never hissed in her 2 years, and she still didn't but I got the closest thing to a growl/moan I've heard from her, so I know it hurt. I pulled very gently, but with enough force to know this is not just hanging there. I cant bare to hurt her so I haven't tried again, but im worried because although it wasn't there the last time I looked, it is back now.

This is the third or fourth time I've noticed it.

It does not seam to be bothering her.

I don't see anything unnatural (dental floss, string, etc.), though its hard to get a good look.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Oh how distressing for you both. Unfortunately it is difficult to give a answer on this one. Either she is constipated and her stools are hard to pass. in which case there are some things you can do to help her in the future from this issue. please see my web page here for more details
https://www.our-happy-cat.com/cat-constipation.html

Or she has some internal problem that needs to be checked out my a vet. unfortunately not being able to see the problem for myself it is hard for me to judge whether it could be a constipation issue or something else. if I were in your situation i would take her to the vets for a check up just to make sure that there was something inside which could be causing this problem.

I hope the problem can be sorted out soon.

best wishes Kate
