when can I let my cat out

by MR LENSLY

When do I let him go out of the house on his own.

Hi if you mean if he's new to your home it is usually recommended that you give him a couple of weeks if not four to get used to his inside world first. this will make it easier for him to know where to return too.

however some cats don't need so long, it really is a judgement you have to make.

When you do let him out for the first time you could go out side with him and spend a few minutes with him. this will help him associate the outside world with home and you. Also you could leave something which smells of him or you near the door. A blanket or old jumper etc. this will also help him find his way home.

best wishes Kate
