white lump on cats head

by M Conroy

My cat has suddenly had a white pill like size growth appear on her head. I thought first of all that it was cat willow bud from the garden but it isn't that. She was a stray who I have had for two years now and has been truamatised previously so is hard to get hold of to have a good look.

Can you advise?

Hi
first of all check that its not a tick, they an look a little odd.

If it's not that then it has to be some sort of growth or cyst. Now this does not necessary mean something terrible. My old cat had a lump appear on her ear and it turned out to be non cancerous but had to be removed.

A vet will need to examine the lump and he may even have to do a biopsy depending on what he thinks it may be. Either way the sooner your cat gets to see a vet the better the out come will be.

Hope all is well

best wishes kate

My advice is to take her to see the vet

Thank you so much for your advice. It was luckily only a tick, but never having seen one before I was perplexed!
Took some time to get her but safely removed now.
