Why is our young male cat suddenly sneezing and drooling?

We have a two year old male (neutered) Japanes Bobtail cat. He is an outdoor/indoor cat. Last evening he came home from an adventure and he was sneezing and drooling. Today he is active but he is (still) sneezing and he is drooling profusely. Are these symptoms of something we should be taking him to the vet for?

Answer from Kate
Well it could be a cold which in normal circumstance he will get over in a few days. the other possibility is that he has found some catnip which can cause drolling and possible sneezing. Again the effects should not last very long.

he may have even swallowed something which has got stuck in his mouth so if the symptoms do not go away after another day then if i were you i would take him to the vets to be on the safe side.

best wishes Kate
