Worried about my cat whose seems spooked

by Nate

Hello,

My cat is the type of cat that goes outside and immediately wants to go back inside. Unfortunately when I went running today, the cat went outside without me noticing. Subsequently, the cat was spooked (I guess because it hasn't been outside for a great amount of time before). I was able to get the cat inside by carrying it. Now the problem is, the cat is spooked pretty badly and won't even approach me anymore (it either hides under the couch or in the laundry room). I'm worried about my cat and am wondering what to do now?

Hi
some cats are just more nervous than others and take more time to get over scares.

generally there is not much you can do apart from giving the cat time and space to find their confidence again.

Trying to force it out etc can sometimes just make things worse.

I do have a web page with some more general information about nervous cats which you may find of further interest here https://www.our-happy-cat.com/scared-cat.html

In the mean time just give your cat some space and time and allow her to come to you when shes ready.

best wishes kate
