Worried about my Cat.

My male cat's behind has been looking really red the past few days. Tonight I checked to see if it was any better and it looked red and like it had a little blood on it. This cat was a feral cat that we have tamed enough to pet, but he is still an outside cat. We do let him in at night sometimes. He is about 1 1/2 years old.

Do you have any ideas on this? I worry because I know eating mice ant etc. this cat can get different diseases. We vaccinated him once last year but I had to catch him in a trap to do it. Do you think I should take him in or do you think maybe he could be constipated or just having troubles going?

Hi
well if I were you i would take him in for a check up with the vet. there are so many different things it could be, from worms or other parasites, to infection or like you say bowel trouble possible caused by eating mice etc. It really is impossible to second guess and is much better to get him properly checked out and catch whatever it is early on.

he is a very lucky to cat to have you care for him, so many stray and feral s don't have this sort of care.

best wishes Kate
